I do not know how I can express the gratitude towards her on the things that she has enlightened me about or taught me about coupons along the way. She always seems to write interesting AND FACTUAL articles.. some of which I have printed for store managers and being pro-active against coupon fraud! I think as a couponer, we need to keep our integrity because without it coupons will cease to exist. I get that there is a bad apple in every bunch (I've seen several at the places that I shop!).. but I don't want too many bad apples to ruin it for the rest of us.. Jail'me Kirlew anyone? I know you've watched Extreme Couponing.. I bet that's why a lot of you started couponing in the first place.. because you wanted to save BIG!  I kind of wanted to spotlight Jill's contributions to the couponing world and her strong-willed sense of keeping couponing honest and helping others stay honest as they coupon. Private Label Coupons --> Use at Publix

Did you know that you can use Target's Up&Up branded coupons to Publix and use it on their private label items? This is great news for couponers shopping at Publix! Nail polish remover for example, is a very inexpensive (CHEAP!) item in Publix's private label brand. Normally (before they changed their coupon policy) you could not use another store's store coupon for their private brand on Publix's private brand. BUT NOW YOU CAN! So if you shop at Publix (and they accept Target as a competitor), consider this a GREAT omen! Publix started allowing consumers to use another store's coupons for private label items to help "introduce" their brand of products to customers. It's in their latest FAQs.

Sundown Naturals Vitamins + HOT deal Scenario at Publix

There is a HOT deal going on right now at your neighborhood Publix. I am not quite sure which newspaper week had the $1/1 Sundown Naturals coupon in it but I keep finding that I have several of them (so sometime in June, I am guessing). In the green advantage buy flyer on the front you will find a "Save $6/2 Sundown Naturals" coupon that is good June 25-July 15th, 2011. In Publix's coupon policy you can use one store and one manufacturer Q per item. So in this scenario you would use TWO of the Manuf. Q's and one store (because the store is off of 2 products) for a total of 3 coupons. Generally you can get Sundown vitamins for a very reasonable price so this is a *POSSIBLE* moneymaker deal depending on what you get and what your store has! I plan on getting a couple of things later as today is my day off (and hopefully my scanner from NCP comes in on Tues!!!!). Anyways, I just wanted to tip you all off on this deal, it won't last long (until this Friday!) so act soon! Save up to $7/2 products.. how much better could this deal be?!?!

New Coupon Binder

Tonight I got a new coupon binder at Target. It was $19.99 and is a Case-It. It's very similar to the one above. I wasn't sure I would like to go back to the binder as I've been on the dark side for about a year now.. but the more I look into it the more I think I'd like to give the binder a chance now.. esp. since I am a more seasoned couponer. Hopefully I'll be able to get some pictures up soon of this said binder. I don't think I will be getting rid of my expand-a-files anytime soon though as I am really fond of them. I will still also be organizing my coupons by the isles of Publix.. Speaking of Publix, I did my grocery shopping tonight and got about $200 worth of goodies for about $70. My husband was very impressed. I still want to get him a pegboard for his birthday and he tried to say that if I did that he was going to get me laundry detergent for my birthday.. AT LEAST IT'S PRACTICAL! It's cool to celebrate birthdays and such and to have fun. But as I get older I am starting to realize I want more practical things for my birthday or for any present really. My new case-it is red and i just got dividers with it this afternoon. But I think I am going to head to wal-mart shortly to pick up some baseball card holders and construction paper. Wish me luck as I start to reorganize my coupons and get reaquainted with the binder system.

Sunday Coupon Preview

6/30/11 Wal-Mart Trip :: COMPLETELY FREE

Last Night aka really early in the AM, 6/30, I went to Wal-Mart after work and "purchased" 5 bottles of Men's Dial Lotion. I got the travel size for $0.97 each. My Mother had mailed me (5) $2/1 Dial Body Wash or Body Lotion coupons (thanks mom!!). For each bottle I purchased I received $1.03 in overage. Wal-Marts Customer Service Manager was the one that rang up my goods. After the second coupon she noticed that I would be going into overage. She had another associate run to talk to a manager higher than herself because she didn't know Wal-Mart's coupon policy about overage. While the associate was gone, I whipped out my Blackberry and did a "quick" Google search on Wal-Mart's coupon policy. Shortly before the associate returned I zoomed in on the page and showed the CSM that Wal-Mart's policy would allow the customer to either get cash back from the coupons or apply the overage to the rest of the basket. The funny part is, this CSM was the same one that was there last week when my husband and I got overage ($1.60) back on 8 pkgs of Tic Tacs! I don't use the binder system but almost feel that if I ever do get a binder that I definitely need to put a copy of their coupon policy in there because Wal-Mart managers and associates alike tend not to know their OWN coupon policy. It's very shocking to me in an area that is so heavily couponed that one of the biggest stores here doesn't even know their own coupon policy. Once the CSM read that part on my blackberry, she scanned my other 3 coupon and I received $4.66 back in CASH! My retail total before coupons was only $4.85. The overage on my coupons paid my $0.49 in tax as well!

Unfortunately this is not an item my Publix carries otherwise I would have rather purchased it from Publix.
