Hi Guys and Gals,
I wanted to apologize for being absent the last month or so. It's not that I mean to ignore my blog but lately I haven't really had the energy to keep up with it! I entered my third trimester last week. I have less than 12 weeks to go! It's exhausting, scary and exciting all at the same time. I've been slowly but surely saving money to buy the crib and the fancy pram/convertible stroller I want (I found it for less than $300 online!). I haven't been couponing as much lately because I've been averaging around 2-3 days at work -- sometimes really long ones -- and they've been making me increasingly tired and I've noticed I have swelling (and edema) in my ankles as a result of all the standing I do at work. It's nice to have a small income trickle in besides what my husband makes -- though we don't count that as income because it all goes to pay bills.
My mom was a stay-at-home mom aka homemaker my entire life. I think that's probably where I get a lot of my creativity from.. anyways, at night she always knits while she watches t.v. Lately, I've found myself doing the same. However, I mainly knit very small things like headbands and squares. I'm not too good yet with following patterns though we've been looking them up like crazy on the internet the past week or so. A couple times a week she and I will "try-out" a new pattern together this way she can explain to me how to do it. The last one we tried together was a oak leaf pattern. Needless to say, mine came out atrociously; hers was a lot better though the pattern was a bit confusing and hard to follow in the end. I also had a hard time with my purling. I wasn't doing it right and as a result looked very wonky. I am very proud of myself though, tonight I made a baby headband (my latest obsession -- baby prop shop but for less) and then I made a small rose (that was actually supposed to be a part of a pin) that I then "sewed" or tied it into the headband with lots of tiny knots. The rose was very hard with the needle size they suggested! I'm a very tight knitter on small needles! Anyways, hopefully I'll be able to take a picture soon and post. :)
I just wanted to thank everyone for being so supportive and understanding during this time. I do miss couponing and I do purchase 2 newspapers a week but I just haven't had the stamina lately do hunt down good deals..
